🏢Initial Step: Create or Join a Company

Before using Sync Finance, it is essential to create or join a company in order to centralize, organize, and manage your financial data effectively.

This step allows you to activate the main features of the dashboard: invoice generation, member management, financial reports, and more.


1️⃣ Access Your Account Settings

Go to the Settings section of your dashboard, then click on the Company tab. At this stage, you have two options:


🔗 Join an Existing Company

This option is only available if one of your colleagues has already created a company on Sync Finance and is its administrator. In that case, they can share with you a secret key, which you’ll need to paste into the designated field after clicking the "Join a Company" button.

⚠️ Important: Once you’ve joined a company, you will have access to all of its data, records, and financial documents. 👉 You can leave the company at any time using the button located at the bottom left of the Company tab.


🏗️ Create a New Company

If no company has been created yet within your team, you can create one yourself. To do so, you will need to provide the following information:

✅ A valid Swiss IBAN linked to your company’s bank account ✅ A valid postal address, written in the following format: Chemin de Mongevon 8, Crissier 1023 ✅ A company logo that will appear on your invoices ✅ The account beneficiary’s name

🔐 The beneficiary’s name, IBAN, and address must match your business or personal banking account. This ensures that the QR codes generated on your invoices are valid, so your clients can make payments to the correct account.


👑 Become the Company Owner

When you create a company, you automatically become its administrator. You’ll be able to:

  • Edit all company information (address, name, logo, etc.)

  • Manage your team (add, remove, or promote members — promoting a member to administrator means you’ll become a regular member and lose access to admin settings)

  • Access and control the secret key used to invite new members

🚨 Important: The secret key allows other users to join your company and access all its data. Only share it with trusted individuals.


📝 What’s Next?

Once your company is created or joined:

  • If you created a company, you now need to create your own revenue and expense categories.

  • If you joined an existing company and no categories have been set up yet, you will need to create them as well to properly organize your accounting.
